Campus DJ Rayymonbeatz, or Jeremiah Dozier, is immensely involved on campus. In addition to DJing, he is a part of WSTU Radio and the Gentlemen’s League organizations.
The pandemic has affected students in various ways such as the impact of losing loved ones and dealing with their mental health. On the other hand, some were able to focus on growing their businesses and building great relationships. Although challenging, Dozier has made sure to prioritize his academic obligations to remain a student scholar.
“Being a college student during a global pandemic had to be the most difficult challenge I’ve had to overcome,” Dozier said. To prevail through these unsettling times, Jeremiah turned to what he loves -DJing and producing beats.
Dozier said the “passing of the torch” from former campus DJ, King Kai, is how he became the university’s current official campus DJ.
“When I expressed my interest in becoming a DJ to him, he instantly took me under his wing. He gave me a few pointers and he helped mold me into the DJ I am today. When he graduated, he passed the torch to me to become the official campus for CAU,” Dozier stated.
Due to his consistency and originality, Dozier became the third most followed Black DJ on Tik Tok. However, Tik Tok was not something he was interested in until a friend told him to join. After posting six videos, Dozier’s Tik Tok career instantly took off with half a million followers and over 500 million views.
As Dozier’s Tik Tok career continues to grow, he will not forget how Clark Atlanta University shaped him as a creative. The university will forever be indebted to Dozier’s life story.
