ABOUT THE PANTHER, THE STUDENT VOICE AT CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY

The Panther’s digital presence was launched on September —, 2020. Created by the Editor-In-Chief, Kayla Grant, the Managing Editor, Miranda Perez, and the Online Editor, Kenyatta Coleman, the website served as the first online adaptation of the newspaper.

 

Operated on the campus of the illustrious Clark Atlanta University, The Panther newspaper is the student voice to a consitorium of 8,000 students. The Atlanta University Center is the largest contiguous consortium of African-American higher education institutions in the United States. 

 

The center consists of four historically Black colleges and universities in southwest Atlanta, Georgia, dually serving Spelman College, Morehouse College, and Morris Brown College.

While Clark Atlanta University began in 1988 with the merger of Atlanta University and Clark College, the student newspaper could be dated back to the 1940’s. The student voice always has been an essential part to the panther community. Covering a variety of topics, such as politics, campus life and business news, The Panther is committed to providing critical and enlightening news to the Clark Atlanta University community, alumni and Atlanta-area residents.
