Leron Rogers, an entertainment and sports attorney, shared his story on how he became capable of representing high-profile individuals in the industry today.
“I’m blessed enough to do some stuff I’m truly passionate about; it’s just nice when your clients appreciate stuff that you do for them. We give our clients a white-glove service, we over-deliver for them, and we take care of them. That’s family,” Rogers stated.
He received his degree in finance, but he always knew he wanted to be a sports agent.
“Doing all my research for wanting to be a sports agent a lot of recommendations where you should go to law school,” Rogers said. “Well, shoot, I’m going to law school because I wanted to be a sports agent.”
Rogers went into law school with no expectations but was hoping for a positive outcome no matter how it went.
“There’s a whole strategy to succeeding in law school other than just going to class. So it took me a little bit to get up and to go but then once I figured it out, I said oh, I got this,” Rogers said.
His biggest piece of advice was to get familiar with those already attending where you want to go so you can exceed your expectations.
He then shared some of the gems he received when he was looking to become successful in the industry.
“First of all, you can’t give up. Sometimes you need someone in your corner who will talk you through stuff and know who that person is. I don’t care how strong we are,” he said.
Rogers works with a full spectrum of professionals in the industry, including producers, songwriters, actors, and record labels.
No matter how high in the industry he goes, he said he will always find a way to bring others up and succeed. He said, “You have to be strategic, and you have to do the work. You have to get up every day and put the work in. Do your skill-building so you can get to your goal.”
