Beyoncé and Peloton announced a partnership with Clark Atlanta University to give 2-year digital memberships worth more than 1.1 million dollars.
“I’ve been a Peloton member for several years, and I’m excited to partner with a company that helps people, young and old, be the best versions of themselves, in an innovative and helpful way. I’m proud to celebrate the students at HBCUs with this donation, to encourage them to find and embrace their own wellness regimens,” Beyoncé stated.
With more than 3.6 million members, Peloton is the leading fitness brand that is known for its subscription platform of fitness classes that are accessible with the use of the Peloton Bike, Peloton Tread, Peloton Bike +, Peloton Tread +, and Peloton App.
Peloton’s 2-year digital memberships include unlimited access for students to participate in live and on demand fitness classes from world-class instructors on the Peloton App.
“Peloton and I both believe that the power of music can help uplift, motivate, and inspire those on their fitness journeys,” Beyoncé stated.
Due to COVID-19, the university’s mission has been to promote good
health and wellness for their students as they continue to adjust to an online learning curriculum.
“Partnerships like this mean a lot to our Clark Atlanta University scholars. Our students are our top priority, and we remain dedicated to ensuring they not only receive a world-class education, but their physical and emotional well-being is supported as well. We are elated and appreciate this new partnership with Beyoncé and Peloton,” President George T. French said.
“These types of collaborations help our students to reach their goals and aid in shaping their future. Partnerships between forward-thinking leaders and organizations lead to intentional alliances that greatly benefit our students and strengthen our communities,” President George T. French stated.
Clark Atlanta University is one of 10 Historically Black Colleges and Universities that was chosen to be a part of this partnership with Beyoncé and Peloton. Other HBCUs selected were Bennett College, Grambling State University, Hampton University, Howard University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman College, Texas Southern University, and Wilberforce University.
